CONSUL RISK MANAGEMENT UNVEILS CONSUL/ZLOCK.

CONSUL risk management, an IT security software provider specializing in audit and administration tools for enterprise-wide security management, has announced the availability of Consul/zLock, the latest release in the zSecure Pro Suite. Consul/zLock ensures compliance to mainframe security policy and procedures by preempting command violations, thereby increasing control and decreasing security risks. Consul/zLock integrates with other Consul/zAdmin software for the administration of RACF (Resource Access Control Facility) IBM mainframe security software introduced in 1976 that verifies user ID and password and controls access to authorized files and resources.

Consul/zLock employs innovative, patent-pending technology to protect the RACF mainframe environment by enabling greater control over RACF commands and preventing non-compliant commands from being executed. Mainframe administrators are able to take a proactive stance towards security because Consul/zLock preempts security errors by residing between the user and RACF, verifying all commands against a company's security policies and procedures Policies and Procedures are a set of documents that describe an organization's policies for operation and the procedures necessary to fulfill the policies. They are often initiated because of some external requirement, such as environmental compliance or other governmental . In addition, Consul/zLock can generate real-time alerts if certain types of RACF commands are issued, helping to prevent system outages caused by incorrect RACF commands. Consul/zLock tightens mainframe security and increases ROI (Return On Investment) The monetary benefits derived from having spent money on developing or revising a system. In the IT world, there are more ways to compute ROI than Carter has liver pills (and for those of you who never heard of that expression, it means a lot).  by:
