CONSOLIDATED RICH COAST SULPHUR COMPLETES $1,000,000 PRIVATE PLACEMENT

 Construction of Waste Treatment Plant
 Slated for Completion in February
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Consolidated Rich Coast Sulphur Ltd. (NASDAQ: KRHCF; Vancouver: KRH) announced that it has completed a private placement of 300,837 units at an average price of $3.32 per unit; resulting in net proceeds to the company of $1,000,000. The units, which are restricted from trading for one year, comprise one common share and one warrant to purchase an additional share at an average price of $3.32 per share in the first year, or at $3.82 for the second year following the closing of the private placement.
Consolidated Rich Coast Sulphur will allocate approximately $400,000 of the proceeds to its waste treatment affiliate Waste Reduction Systems ("WRS"), to enable WRS to complete construction in February of a proprietary sludge treatment plant. WRS has leased, with an option to purchase, a 67,000-square-foot steel and concrete building in Taylor, Mich., to house the treatment plant. The building has enough space for as many as four separate 4,000 ton-per- day sludge treatment lines. The plant site is accessible by: interstate highways serving Michigan, Ohio and Canadian industry; three major railways (Norfolk and Southern, Conrail, and Grand Trunk Western): and, by barges which service the Great Lakes waterways.
Integrated Waste Systems ("IWS"), Consolidated Rich Coast's managing partner in Waste Reduction Systems, expects to have the sludge treatment plant operational by April, 1993. Sludge treated at the Taylor site will be shipped to a Browning-Ferris landfill for final disposal pursuant to a previously announced, long-term industrial waste disposal agreement between WRS and Browning-Ferris Industries Inc. of Southeastern Michigan Inc.
Consolidated Rich Coast Sulphur Ltd. is a publicly traded company whose shares trade on the NASDAQ system under the symbol "KRHCF," and on the Vancouver Stock Exchange under the symbol "KRH."
