Confio Software has launched DBFlash for Oracle Version 5.0. Based on Confio's Wait-Event methodology, this version expands the diagnostic capabilities of DBFlash to give Oracle Database Administrators (DBAs) automated Alerts of potential problems before they affect end-to-end IT performance.

Early adopters of Wait-Event techniques have taken a reactive approach, analyzing traces of known problems only. DBFlash now provides continuous monitoring on each of a customer's databases, then alerts the DBA to which transactions are accumulating high Wait Times. Unlike tools that simply time transactions between systems, DBFlash looks inside the database, prioritizing more than 800 specific Wait-Events based on their impact upon the Oracle database.
