CONFESSIONS: `Why I hate my wife's huge breasts' Lee Buisson, 30, a fitness instructor from Sheffield, is married to glamour model Ashley Bond, the woman with the biggest boobs in Britain. You'd think he'd be delighted...

Byline: Text by Lucille Howe.

`I met Ashley in July 1998 in a gentleman's club in Manchester where we were both working - I was a minder and she was a dancer. She was on a podium in a sexy gold bikini Bikini (bēkē`nē), atoll, c.2 sq mi (5.2 sq km), W central Pacific, one of the Ralik Chain, Marshall Islands. `Ashley and I started going out. When I introduced her to my friends they didn't like her and neither did my parents when they met her a few weeks later. They were worried I'd get hurt by all the attention she gets and that she'd have loads of blokes after her.

`When I met Ashley she was 23. She'd already gone from a 32C to a 32E, which I thought was a nice size. But after we'd been dating for about six weeks, she booked herself in for the op that took her up to a 32JJJ JJJ Julian Date (format)

. She thought by buying herself the biggest boobs in Britain she'd have more success with the topless modelling she was doing already for The Sun, glamour magazines and websites.

`I wasn't happy. I worried about how dangerous the operation was and thought her boobs would look weird on such a slender frame - she's only five foot tall and weighs just six and a half stone. I told her how I felt, but she didn't listen. Looking back, I wish I'd done more to stop it.

`To make her breasts so large, doctors implanted an inflatable in·flat·a·ble

The company wanted to use a model to publicise Verb 1. publicise - call attention to; "Please don't advertise the fact that he has AIDS"

the technique and Ashley wanted the exposure.

`She nearly haemorrhaged during the operation. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but it was something to do with the breast tissue being exposed for such a long time so the wound started to weep. I was absolutely terrified ter·ri·fy

I was going to lose her, all for a stupid whim. Thankfully she recovered and was discharged a few days later.

`After a few weeks, she began to get better, the bandages came off and we started to have physical contact again. I was surprised to find even a cuddle was difficult and our sex life was affected too. We can only have sex in a few positions as her boobs get in the way. There's even a danger the skin between her breasts might tear - her implants weigh an extra stone. She has to sleep in big boulder-holder bras and, even though I quite like the look of them, it's rare I even see her boobs.

`She was initially happy with her new size as it improved her career - she was invited to talk about it on Trisha and Kilroy and booked for even more clubs and shoots. But her feelings changed when she started getting nasty comments. A week after she came home, we were in the supermarket. A young, male shop assistant saw us and went to get his colleague. "She's a freak!" he laughed, pointing at Ashley. Then a pair of old women started muttering to each other, "Who does she think she is?" And one evening we were having a a meal in a restaurant and the waiter burst out laughing and shouted, "Look at the size of them!"

`Ashley was hurt and upset. I told her it was only because people were jealous. But it made me feel annoyed we weren't able to lead a normal life any more and disappointed that people could be so cruel.

`Ashley started to dress a bit more conservatively so as not to draw as much attention to herself. These days when she's not working she usually wears jeans and jumpers.

`Although our lifestyle was far from conventional I knew I was in love with Ashley - and five months after the op we got married. We were both still getting used to her new boobs, not to mention other people's reactions to them, but I knew together we'd get through it.

`On our honeymoon we were tested straight away. We went to the Dominican Republic Dominican Republic (dəmĭn`ĭkən), republic (2005 est. pop. 8,950,000), 18,700 sq mi (48,442 sq km), West Indies, on the eastern two thirds of the island of Hispaniola. The capital and largest city is Santo Domingo.  and made friends with a group of Brits round the pool. One day I popped off to buy drinks and when I came back I noticed they were secretly recording Ashley with their camcorder. I was furious, but I just walked Ashley away. There's no point taking on people like that - if I did, I'd be permanently rowing. I have learned the hard way not to trust anyone though.

`I don't make new friends easily now. Even after we married my mum was still concerned I was going to get hurt. But she gradually started to change her mind. I think she likes the attention she gets from having a famous relative now. She's even gone on TV to talk about it, which makes her feel special.

`But it's been hard maintaining a relationship when family and friends are against us. Everyone's so willing to put the boot in and I spend most of my time defending Ashley, which is exhausting. I wish people would give her a chance before pre-judging her as a bimbo. She's actually very intelligent - she has four A levels and was looking into training for veterinary work when she was sidetracked by the glamour industry. Of course, no one credits her for that.

`On the 2nd of January 2001, Ashley gave birth to our little girl, Morgan. Because of her implants she couldn't breastfeed breast·feed or breast-feed

for longer than six weeks - her boobs were the size of watermelons and she suffered from back pain. I was disappointed because I thought Morgan was missing out, but I tried not to dwell on to continue long on or in; to remain absorbed with; to stick to; to make much of; as, to dwell upon a subject; a singer dwells on a note s>.

`Now Morgan's growing up, I'd love Ashley to have a breast reduction so we can lead a more normal existence. We've talked about it and she's considering having one in the next few years, so Morgan doesn't have to deal with the attention we get. We don't want her to be embarrassed by her mum or to grow up thinking the size of your bust is important. When we pick her up from nursery there are whispers from the other mums and everyone in Sheffield knows exactly who we are.

`We try to protect Morgan by guarding our anonymity - we live on a very quiet street and don't draw attention to ourselves. But a few months ago we had workmen in the road and they saw Ashley later, dancing in a club, and shouted, "We know where you live. We've been round your house and we didn't see any underwear on the line." That's too personal. I worry about Ashley and Morgan's safety and it makes me feel very protective over my family.

`There have been times when we've been close to breaking up because of Ashley's boobs. Sometimes I feel her work takes priority, and I end up looking after Morgan. I wish she'd forget about her media image occasionally and focus more on her family instead. But she likes fame, she's addicted to it. It's like there are two Ashleys: the media character and the woman I love and know.

`Do Ashley and I argue about her boobs? Among other things, of course we do. We're like any other married couple and we have good times and bad times.

`Because the skin on her chest has been stretched so much, she'll always need implants but surgeons say she could go smaller. I think 32D would be perfect. For now she wants to make the most of all the exposure her implants give her and earn as much money as possible before she has the reduction.

`The funny thing is I don't even like big boobs. I'm more of a bum man. But people don't want to hear that, do they?'
