CONFERENCE PLANNED ON ECONOMICS.

Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  government officials and area business leaders plan to hold an Economic Strategy Summit in the next 60 days to develop ways to prevent a recession following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, officials said Tuesday.

``This will take the combined efforts of business, labor, the county and the leaders of our 88 cities,'' Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich Michael Dennis Antonovich (born 1939 in Los Angeles, California) is a member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors representing the Fifth District, which covers northern Los Angeles County, the Antelope, Santa Clarita, Pasadena, and parts of the San Fernando and San  said.

Antonovich said there are business-community concerns that the attacks could lead to recession and that the county needs to find ways to revitalize the economy.

 said he will co-chair the summit with Antonovich.

``Together we look forward to developing regional strategies to mitigate the impacts of the economic downturn on businesses and workers in the city and county of Los Angeles,'' Hahn said.
