 voted unanimously Monday to recommend approval of a 25-acre shopping center shopping center, a concentration of retail, service, and entertainment enterprises designed to serve the surrounding region. The modern shopping center differs from its antecedents—bazaars and marketplaces—in that the shops are usually amalgamated into  proposed by Brentwood-based Caruso Affiliated Caruso Affiliated is a real estate development company in California, U.S.A.. It is headed by Rick Caruso.

It is known particularly for building higher-end outdoor shopping centers.
 Holdings for the corner of Thousand Oaks and Westlake boulevards.

The project met with wide support from nearby residents, in part because developer Rick Caruso met with local homeowners to find out what they wanted in the center and incorporated many of their suggestions in his plan.

The center is expected to include a multiscreen Mann theater complex, a Bristol Farms Market, bookstores, coffee shops, restaurants and dozens of other shops and attractions. Caruso is currently building a smaller center near the Janss Marketplace.
