At 11:40 a.m., Ventura County firefighters were called to the scene, where smoke and fire was reported coming from the department store's 10-foot-high electrical panel, said Capt. Larry Brister. Eleven firefighters contained the fire by 12:02 p.m., officials said. The fire was sparked when a circuit went bad and caused approximately $1,000 in damage to the electrical panel, Brister said. No injuries were reported, and the store was open again for business later Sunday afternoon. |
