CONEJO VALLEY: BRIEFLY : WOMAN ARRESTED IN HUSBAND'S DEATH.


OXNARD - A 31-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murdering her husband, the Oxnard Police Department said Saturday.

Edna Reyes of Oxnard - also known as Maria Luisa Maria Luisa may refer to:
  • Anna Maria Luisa de' Medici (1667-1743), last of the Medici to live in the Pitti Palace
  • Archduchess Maria Luisa of Austria (1791-1847), second wife of NapolĂ©on Bonaparte
  • Maria Luisa Ambrosini (20th century), non-fiction author
 Valerio Paredes and Edna Montejano - is suspected of shooting 31-year-old Martin Reyes Valencia, also of Oxnard, at 8:05 p.m. Friday, officials said.

The killing occurred as the officers were walking back to their cars after attempting to mediate a dispute involving the couple at the Mira Loma Apartments at 1600 W. Fifth Street, police said.

The victim died at the scene and the suspect was arrested on suspicion of homicide, police said.

Simi church sets date for carnival

SIMI VALLEY Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  - The St. Rose of Lima Saint Rose of Lima, (20 April, 1586 - 24 August, 1617), the first Catholic saint of the Americas, was born in Lima, Peru. St. Rose was born April 20 1586, in the city of Lima, the capital of Peru. She received the baptismal name Isabel Flores de Oliva.
 Church's 1996 Carnival has been scheduled for Friday through Sunday on the parish grounds, 1305 Royal Ave.

The annual carnival will feature rides, food and game booths, live entertainment, dancing, a drawing and other attractions.

Carnival hours are Friday from 6 to 11 p.m., Saturday 2 to 11 p.m. and Sunday 2 to 10 p.m.

Admission is $2 per person; anyone under 5 feet tall is admitted free.

Studio film analyst to address writers

CAMARILLO - Moorpark resident Susie Marx, a professional story analyst for film and television, will be the featured speaker Tuesday at the Ventura County Writers Club.

Marx has worked on CBS (Cell Broadcast Service) See cell broadcast.  movies and miniseries, 20th Century Fox and Paramount Pictures feature film divisions, and for Disney animated features.
