Sheriff's official named commander

VENTURA - Craig Husband, a 20-year veteran of the Ventura County Sheriff's Department The Ventura County Sheriff's Department (VCSD) provides law enforcement for the unincorporated areas of Ventura County, California, USA, as well as several cities within the county. The cities that VCSD serves are Camarillo, Fillmore, Moorpark, Ojai, and Thousand Oaks. , has been promoted to the rank of commander, effective Sunday, the department announced.

Since graduating from the Sheriff's Training Academy in 1977, Husband has worked in a range of assignments, including custody, patrol, personnel, narcotics narcotics n. 1) techinically, drugs which dull the senses. 2) a popular generic term for drugs which cannot be legally possessed, sold, or transported except for medicinal uses for which a physician or dentist's prescription is required.  and crime prevention.

Scouts, brownies to retire old flag

THOUSAND OAKS - Local Boy Scouts, Explorer scouts, Cub Scouts and Brownies sponsored by the B.P.O. Elks Lodge will participate in an American Flag Retirement ceremony Sunday.

The ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the lodge, 158 Conejo School Road, Thousand Oaks. The youths will present the colors and, wearing white gloves, will separate the 13 stripes that represented the original colonies, naming each colony before burning them. At the conclusion the gloves will also be burned.
