CONEJO VALLEY: BRIEFLY : T.O. BOARD APPROVES REGIONAL PARK DESIGN.


THOUSAND OAKS Thousand Oaks, residential city (1990 pop. 104,352), Ventura co., S Calif., in a farm area; inc. 1964. Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown.  - Local golfers and equestrians are closer to seeing their dream for a $12 million regional park become a reality with the approval of a schematic design for the Hill Canyon project.

The Hill Canyon Recreational Resources Authority - a joint-powers board composed of City Council and Conejo Recreation and Park District members - voted 7-0 for the design after a public hearing Thursday.

The proposed regional park will include an 18-hole golf course, as well as hiking and equestrian trails.

The plans will be further refined before being sent back to the board.

T.O. rider injured in motorcycle crash

THOUSAND OAKS - A 25-year-old Thousand Oaks man suffered minor head injuries Thursday when his motorcycle hit a car that turned left in front of him, the Ventura County Sheriff's Department The Ventura County Sheriff's Department (VCSD) provides law enforcement for the unincorporated areas of Ventura County, California, USA, as well as several cities within the county. 3 on school board to seek re-election

CALABASAS - Three members of the Las Virgenes Unified School District Las Virgenes Unified School District (LVUSD) is a K-12 school district in north-west Los Angeles County, USA consisting of 14 public schools in the cities of Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Westlake Village, and several small portions of the West Hills section of Los Angeles.  board have announced that they will seek re-election in November.

The board members whose terms are expiring are: Barbara Bowman Fagelson, who has served on the board for three terms; Judy Jordon, who has served for two terms; and Charlotte Meyer, who is completing her first term.

The board members named an upcoming bond measure, class-size reduction and technology in the classroom as issues they would like to address during four more years with the district.
