``The governor's approval is a major step in the commitment to veterans, especially in Ventura County,'' said Supervisor John Flynn.

Flynn recognized the efforts of Ron Livingston and Eric Wittenberg (who owned the property and donated the site), architect LeRoy Andrews, local veterans groups and others for working to get Saticoy selected for the veterans home.
