Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown.  - ``Storytime with Ella,'' part of the Ventura County Library Services' summer reading program, will be presented from 1 to 5 p.m. today at The Oaks mall.

Children can receive awards for reading during the summer by bringing their reading logs from the local library to The Oaks customer service booth on Aug. 9.

Troupe set to perform fairy tale in Simi park

SIMI VALLEY - The Fairy Tales in the Park series continues at 4 and 5:30 p.m. today with performances of ``Little Red and the Hoods'' by Gypsies in a Trunk theater troupe.

Audience members may bring lawn chairs, blankets and snacks. Pets are not allowed.

Booth vendors invited to join area street fair

THOUSAND OAKS - The Conejo Valley Community Street Fair is seeking vendor applications for its sixth annual event Oct. 19.

The 10-foot-wide booths, limited to arts and crafts arts and crafts, term for that general field of applied design in which hand fabrication is dominant. The term was coined in England in the late 19th cent. as a label for the then-current movement directed toward the revivifying of the decorative arts. , cost $120, or $140 for an end location.

Last year's fair attracted about 10,000 people and 205 vendors. The event is presented by the Rotary Club of Thousand Oaks, and proceeds are distributed to local charities.
