SIMI VALLEY Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  - Police using a rifle containing plastic projectiles took a suicidal man into custody early Wednesday on the Ronald Reagan Freeway.

New charges filed in slaying of wife

Job fair for youths planned Saturday

SIMI VALLEY - The Simi Valley Youth Employment Service and Countrywide Home Loans will sponsor the 11th annual Job and Career Fair for young adults from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Mountain Gate Plaza at Los Angeles Avenue and First Street.

More than 55 local and regional businesses and agencies plan to participate in the fair.

Young adults ages 16 to 22 will have an opportunity to apply for entry-level jobs. Attending the fair will be representatives from retail, food service, recreation, child care, military, health care, industry, government and other occupational areas. In addition, representatives from schools will provide information about future careers.
