AGOURA HILLS - The Agoura Hills Newcomers Club recently installed its executive and auxiliary boards.

New officers for 1996-97 are: Arlene Eisenhammer, president; Susana Gonzales, first vice president; Margie Puryear and Debbie Jacobus, second vice presidents; Linda Bagaason, membership; Marleen Bussma, treasurer; and June Green, secretary.

Also installed were: Jan Zegel, luncheons; Carole Buresh, coffees and spring tea; Linda Hall, publicity; Martha Terwilliger and Stephanie Forslund, historians; Wendy Gastwirt and Pat Christoffersen, newsletter; and Sylvia Anderson, sunshine.

6 win appointments to military schools

Six area residents have recently received appointments to the nation's military academies, according to according to
prep.

 U.S. Rep. Anthony C. Beilenson Anthony Charles Beilenson (born October 26, 1932) was a Democratic congressman from Southern California, who served in the United States House of Representatives from 1977 to 1997.

Beilenson was born in New Rochelle, New York and grew up in wealthy suburban New York City.
, D-Woodland Hills.

Shannon L. Caffrey of Agoura and Michael S. Landers of Reseda have been appointed to the U.S. Air Force Academy.

Michael S. Gordon of Agoura and L. Todd Morelli of Malibu have been appointed to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Christopher S. Dentzer of Westlake Village and Nicolas B. Leclerc of Westlake Village have been appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy.

After graduation, the six will be commissioned as officers and will serve at least six years in the military.

SANTA PAULA Santa Paula (săn`tə pôl`ə), city (1990 pop. 25,062), Ventura co., S Calif., on the Santa Clara River in a fertile valley that yields citrus fruits, avocados, vegetables, flowers, nursery products, and walnuts; laid out 1875, inc.  - Santa Paula police have arrested three adults and two juveniles in connection with a Saturday night drive-by shooting in the 100 block of 12th Street.

No one was hurt in the 10:23 p.m. incident, according to police. Police said four to five shots were fired from a brown Cadillac passing a residence where three youths were in the driveway.

Police said the car then stopped and one person stepped out and fired three more shots with a handgun.

A car matching the description was later stopped on westbound Highway 126 and the following Santa Paula adults were arrested: Robert Villanueva, 21; Juan Villanueva, 25; and Ricardo Resendez, 21.

Two juveniles have also been arrested but their names were not released because of their age.
