AGOURA HILLS - Friends of Las Virgenes Library is selling Entertainment '97 books to raise money for books and children's programs.

The books, filled with coupons for things such as restaurants, movies and hotels, cost $40 for the San Fernando-Santa Clarita valleys region and $30 for Ventura and Santa Barbara Santa Barbara (săn'tə bär`brə, –bərə), city (1990 pop. 85,571), seat of Santa Barbara co., S Calif., on the Pacific Ocean; inc. 1850.  counties.

THOUSAND OAKS Thousand Oaks, residential city (1990 pop. 104,352), Ventura co., S Calif., in a farm area; inc. 1964. Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown.  - Tickets are on sale for Delta Queen Casino Night, a benefit for the Boy Scouts of the Conejo Valley and the Thousand Oaks-Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Casino-style games, prizes, a silent auction and hors d'oeuvres will be offered. Tickets for the event, which will be held Oct. 26, cost $35 per person. It will be held at Sunset Hills Country Club Thousand Oaks.

Cal Lutheran gets alumni director

THOUSAND OAKS - Pamela M. Knitowski has been named director of alumni relations at California Lutheran University Mission statement
The University's mission statement is as follows:

"California Lutheran University is a diverse, scholarly community dedicated to excellence in the liberal arts and professional studies.

Knitowski, previously assistant director of alumni relations at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, will be working in alumni relations and fund raising at CLU (language) CLU - (CLUster) An object-oriented programming language developed at MIT by Liskov et al in 1974-1975.

CLU is an object-oriented language of the Pascal family designed to support data abstraction, similar to Alphard.
