AGOURA - The Lost Hills Sheriff's Station is seeking applicants for a law enforcement internship.

The person chosen would assist deputies by performing a variety of law enforcement-related assignments through the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Duties could include writing parking citations, riding along with deputies on patrol and taking crime reports

Applicants need to be high school graduates or the equivalent and have a California driver's license. Applications should be submitted between June 5 and June 11 to Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station, 27050 Agoura Road, Agoura CA 91301.

AGOURA HILLS - The city's Department of Community Services will have its May Health and Wellness Lecture at noon on May 28.

The topic of the free program will be insomnia, a major health concern that affects more than 30 million Americans. The discussion will cover major causes of insomnia and how to approach the problem.

Seniors group seeks volunteers

THOUSAND OAKS - Leaders of the Conejo Valley Retired and Senior Volunteer Program are recruiting adults 55 and older as volunteers to help needy people in the community.

Volunteers are particularly needed to spend time with children during supervised family visits at Interface; to serve as greeters for ArtWalk on June 1 and 2; to provide support for the World Affairs Council; to help take reservations and to serve lunch at the Geobel Senior Adult Center; to assist in the Thousand Oaks office of the American Cancer Society; and to serve in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area as an education program assistant or as a visitors' center assistant.

Interface to hold parenting classes

CAMARILLO - Interface Children, Family Services is offering a low-cost 10-week series of positive parenting classes.

The classes will focus on peaceful parenting, saying no with love, building children's self-esteem, effective communication and developing cooperation and family rules.
