VENTURA - The Ventura County Grand Jury indicted a suspect Monday in the killing of a 65-year-old woman who died from a single gunshot wound to the chest in the Poinsettia poinsettia: see spurge.

Alan Holland, 29, was indicted on charges of murder, robbery, carjacking The criminal taking of a motor vehicle from its driver by force, violence, or intimidation.

The u.s. justice department categorizes the crime of carjacking as a "completed or attempted Robbery of a motor vehicle by a stranger
 and being a felon in possession of a firearm in the July 20 murder of Mildred Wilson. Holland also was indicted on special circumstances that the murder was committed during a robbery and a carjacking. The special circumstances make Holland eligible for the death penalty.

Holland has been in custody in the Orange County Jail since he was arrested for a traffic violation on July 26. Prosecutors said Holland will be brought to Ventura County this week for arraignment A criminal proceeding at which the defendant is officially called before a court of competent jurisdiction, informed of the offense charged in the complaint, information, indictment, or other charging document, and asked to enter a plea of guilty, not guilty, or as otherwise permitted  on the murder indictment.

Group sets reward in home burglary

Energy plant issues plan on wetlands

The proposed amendments call for Edison and San Onofre's other owners - San Diego Gas & Electric and the cities of Anaheim and Riverside - to restore hundreds of acres of beach, dunes and degraded wetlands in San Diego and Ventura counties to make up for the power plant's impact on the ocean environment, Hertel said.

Restraining order extended for actor

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has extended the restraining order actor Scott Bakula got earlier this month against a Thousand Oaks woman.
