CONEJO VALLEY: BRIEFLY : COUNCILWOMEN SET FOR CONEJO MEETING.


The Westlake Joint Board of Homeowner Associations will feature Thousand Oaks Thousand Oaks, residential city (1990 pop. 104,352), Ventura co., S Calif., in a farm area; inc. 1964. Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown.  Councilwoman Judy Lazar and Westlake Village Councilwoman Betty DeSantis at their Oct. 24 meeting.

Each will give a report on her respective city and then answer questions from the audience. The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the North Ranch ranch, large farm devoted chiefly to raising and breeding cattle, horses, sheep, and goats. The cattle ranch was introduced from Latin America to Texas and the plains of the W United States and Canada.  Community Center, 1400 N. Westlake Blvd.

The Westlake Joint Board is a group of 40 homeowner associations in the Westlake Village/Thousand Oaks area dedicated to preserving the Conejo Valley's quality of life.

Low-cost breast screenings offered

WESTLAKE VILLAGE - The Westlake Comprehensive Breast Center is offering low-cost breast health screenings in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an annual international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention and cure. .

The screenings, for women 40 or older, include a routine mammogram mammogram /mam·mo·gram/ (mam´o-gram) a radiograph of the breast.

CAMARILLO - The Pleasant Valley Recreation and Parks District will offer several children's drawing classes with local artist Parmlee Duke at the Camarillo Community Center at 1605 E. Burnley St., beginning in November.

``Time to Draw'' will be offered from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 5 to 26 for children ages 7-12. Students will learn perspective and movement while experimenting with different types of drawing tools. Fee: $27.

``Nature and Watercolor'' will be taught from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays Nov. 5-26 for ages 8-13. Students will learn a variety of painting techniques such as wet on wet, dry brush and patter pat·ter 1
