THOUSAND OAKS Thousand Oaks, residential city (1990 pop. 104,352), Ventura co., S Calif., in a farm area; inc. 1964. Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown.  - Authorities expect to send a misdemeanor battery complaint against Councilwoman Elois Zeanah to the District Attorney's Office next week, now that they have her version of a weekend altercation with a recall signature gatherer.

Zeanah, who is accused of misdemeanor battery against the paid signature gatherer who was circulating a recall petition against her Saturday afternoon, submitted her statement Thursday morning to investigators with the Ventura County Sheriff's Department The Ventura County Sheriff's Department (VCSD) provides law enforcement for the unincorporated areas of Ventura County, California, USA, as well as several cities within the county. The cities that VCSD serves are Camarillo, Fillmore, Moorpark, Ojai, and Thousand Oaks. .

Detective Kevin Vaden said he will follow up on some witness information the councilwoman provided before submitting the complaint to the Ventura County District Attorney's Office, which will determine whether sufficient grounds exist to prosecute her.

Jones, apparently unaware of who he was speaking to, had solicited Zeanah's signature on a recall petition against the councilwoman. Zeanah has denied the accusation and said she never touched the victim.

Ordinance targets slumlords in T.O.

THOUSAND OAKS - The city will draft an ordinance that toughens measures against slumlords in an effort to prevent the kind of hazardous conditions that led to a recent city raid on a squalid neighborhood near downtown.

City calls for study to relocate cluster
