THOUSAND OAKS Thousand Oaks, residential city (1990 pop. 104,352), Ventura co., S Calif., in a farm area; inc. 1964. Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown.  - The California Lutheran University-Community Concert Band and Jazz Band will present a May Day celebration at 8 p.m. in CLU's outdoor pavilion.

Oil pickup program rolling right along

AGOURA HILLS - In the first six months of the mobile motor-oil recycling program, the five participating cities have collected 863.75 gallons of oil, 64 filters, 121 auto batteries, 50 gallons of antifreeze antifreeze, substance added to a solvent to lower its freezing point. The solution formed is called an antifreeze mixture. Antifreeze is typically added to water in the cooling system of an internal-combustion engine so that it may be cooled below the freezing point  and 772 gallons of latex paint.

The mobile unit travels between Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Malibu and Westlake Village, spending one Saturday each month at one of four locations.

The locations and schedules are: Agoura Hills City Hall, first Saturday; Calabasas City Hall, second Saturday; Malibu City Hall, third Saturday; and Berniece Bennett Park This article is about the Detroit ballfield. For the New York City Park, see Bennett Park (New York).
Bennett Park was a baseball park, named after Charlie Bennett, that formerly existed in Detroit, Michigan, at Michigan and Trumbull.

Agoura Hills groups plan horse show

AGOURA HILLS - The Old Agoura Homeowners Association and the Old Agoura Rangers will sponsor a benefit horse show Sunday to raise money for local 4-H clubs.

THOUSAND OAKS - The Thousand Oaks Elks ladies will hold their first Book and Breakfast fund-raiser from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Elks Lodge, 158 Conejo School Road.

An array of books will be on sale along with breakfast. The special menu includes egg, steak, ham, sausage, potatoes, coffee and more. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children.
