SOURCE: Daily News Oil pickup program rolling right along AGOURA HILLS - In the first six months of the mobile motor-oil recycling program, the five participating cities have collected 863.75 gallons of oil, 64 filters, 121 auto batteries, 50 gallons of antifreeze antifreeze, substance added to a solvent to lower its freezing point. The solution formed is called an antifreeze mixture. Antifreeze is typically added to water in the cooling system of an internal-combustion engine so that it may be cooled below the freezing point and 772 gallons of latex paint. The mobile unit travels between Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Malibu and Westlake Village, spending one Saturday each month at one of four locations.
