For more information, phone (805) 371-0147. ?13Daily News Barbecue will pay boys' way to camp OJAI - The Pyles Boys Camp is sponsoring a barbecue from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 28 at Soule Park to raise money for disadvantaged boys. The event will feature Santa Maria-style barbecue, live entertainment, a children's carnival and other activities. The cost is $12 a person, or $10 per person for groups of 10 or more. Organizers hope to raise $20,000, which will help cover the cost of sending about 80 children to the camp for a two-week stay. The children who attend the camp will be chosen by Ventura County and local law enforcement officials. Pyles Boys Camp offers a rugged camping experience that helps at-risk boys gain a sense of responsibility toward their communities and themselves. In the past 40 years, about 3,200 disadvantaged, at-risk youths from Ventura County have attended the camp.
