CONEJO VALLEY: BRIEFLY : BODY OF BOATER FOUND ON BEACH NEAR MUGU.


PORT HUENEME Port Hueneme (wī'nē`mē), city (1990 pop. 20,319), Ventura co., S Calif., on the Pacific coast; founded 1870, inc. 1948. It has an artificial deep-sea harbor and is the site of a huge naval construction-battalion (Seabee) center.  - The body of a Lancaster man who drowned Oct. 6 when a fishing boat capsized in storm swells off the Oxnard coast was found near Point Mugu on Friday morning.

A spokesman for the Ventura County Coroner's Office said the body of Richard Eugene Moulb, 27, was found on the beach at 11:25 a.m. by a civilian employee of the Point Mugu Missile Test Center.

Moulb was last seen at about 2 p.m. Oct. 6 when a large wave overturned the 18-foot Seaswirl that he and Lane D. Mitchell had been struggling to restart after having engine trouble.

Mitchell, 41, also of Lancaster, was pulled unconscious from the ocean about a half-hour after the incident and pronounced dead at Ventura County Medical Center Ventura County Medical Center is a hospital in the city of Ventura, California, USA. It is a 208 bed acute care hospital. The county also operates a 49 bed campus in Santa Paula. .

Ventura man arrested in fatal hit-and-run

VENTURA - Police have arrested a 19-year-old Ventura motorist on suspicion of killing a pedestrian Thursday evening, then fleeing.

Christopher Nathan Ringgold was charged Friday with vehicular manslaughter vehicular manslaughter n. the crime of causing the death of a human being due to illegal driving of an automobile, including gross negligence, drunk driving, reckless driving, or speeding.  and a hit-and-run felony after he admitted to fleeing the scene of the accident. He is being held at the Ventura County Jail.

Leslie Dawn Talley, 51, of Ventura, who was hit by a truck at 6:48 p.m. Thursday, died of internal injuries at the Ventura County Medical Center.

 police, Talley was crossing Thompson Boulevard at the intersection of Ash Street Coordinates:  Ash Street is a village in Suffolk, England.  when she was hit. The Ford pickup truck was impounded by the California Highway Patrol at 3 a.m. Friday morning after police officers stopped the driver, who was not involved in the Talley incident. No further details were available.

Police said that they tied Ringgold to Talley's death when he tried to report the vehicle as stolen Friday morning.
