CONEJO VALLEY: BRIEFLY : 6 PEOPLE ARRESTED IN SHOOTING CASE.


NEWBURY PARK - A 24-year-old man and five juveniles from Newbury Park have been arrested in a Nov. 9 gang-related shooting incident in which no one was hurt, the Thousand Oaks Police Department said.

Adam Solis, 24; three unidentified males ages 14, 15 and 17; and two unidentified females ages 14 and 16 were arrested Wednesday during searches at seven residences, according to the Thousand Oaks Police Department.

The 17-year-old male and the two females were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder; the 14- and 15-year-old males were arrested on suspicion of burglary; and Solis was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs, police said.

In a related incident, a condominium belonging to one of the gang-member suspects was burglarized Nov. 15, police said.

County commission seeking applicants

VENTURA - The Ventura courts are seeking applicants for the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Commission, including youths between the ages of 14 an 18.

The commission reviews the county's juvenile justice system in a variety of areas, including Juvenile Court, the Corrections Services Agency's probation division, the Public Social Services Agency, and law enforcement. The commission also conducts annual inspections of institutions where minors are confined and hearings on juvenile justice issues of concern to the public.

To apply, send a letter to the commission that includes a name, address, phone number, personal experience and background, and reasons for seeking an appointment.
