CONEJO PARK DISTRICT OKS 2.2% BUDGET INCREASE.

Byline: Daily News Staff

Conejo park district officials adopted a $9.2 million budget Thursday Thursday: see week.  night for the coming year - a modest 2.2 percent increase over last year's spending package.

The loss of that money forced the park district to reduce its staff from 103 workers in 1992 to 74 in 1997. The 1997-98 budget calls for adding one more worker in the parks planning division.

The overall effect of the reduced work force meant that the district reduced its operating hours at its community parks; delayed nonemergency repairs to its facilities and postponed refurbishing of some of its buildings.

While the replacement of equipment is for the most part still being deferred, next year the district expects to spend about $42,000 replacing outdated out·dat·ed
