Byline: GERRY GITTELSON Sports

Canyon High girls' basketball standout Nicole Leon has been released from the hospital after suffering a concussion Thursday against Valencia, but she figures to miss at least a week while recovering.

Following the game, the pain worsened and Leon collapsed. She was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

``At first, I just had a little bit of blurry vision. But it was right before halftime, so I said I could play,'' Leon said. ``But after the game, I started to get a really bad headache, really horrible. It was so bad I started to cry like crazy.

``Then I guess I collapsed. I remember talking to Noun 1. talking to - a lengthy rebuke; "a good lecture was my father's idea of discipline"; "the teacher gave him a talking to"
