CONCURRENT ANNOUNCES NEW PRESIDENT, COO TO CONSOLIDATE OPERATIONAL AND

SALES AREAS OF COMPANY; CHAIRMAN AND CEO TO FOCUS ON STRATEGIC PLAN
OCEANPORT, N.J., May 1 /PR Newswire/ -- Concurrent Computer Corporation (NASDAQ: CCUR) today announced the election of John T. Stihl as president and chief operating officer, reporting to Denis R. Brown, chairman and CEO. Stihl will remain on the company's board of directors. It was also announced that Joseph A. Sicilian has been promoted to vice president of worldwide sales, reporting to Stihl.
The promotions were designed to consolidate all operating functions of the company, including worldwide sales, development, manufacturing, customer service, program management, corporate quality and support services under Stihl.
According to Brown, "John Stihl has worked closely with me during our restructuring and recapitalization. As executive vice president in charge of our operations and development, he played a major role in significantly reducing our cost structure by improving manufacturing, procurement processes, quality control and creating a program management function all of which played a major role in enabling us to become profitable.
"With John Stihl taking on more operational responsibilities, I will have more time to focus on implementing our overall strategic direction, including the development of new partnerships."
Because 40 percent of Concurrent's sales are from exports, the sales organization has been restructured to reflect the globalization of the company. Previously, sales were divided between international sales, headed by Sicilian, and North American sales, headed by Neal Waddington. Waddington recently left Concurrent to pursue other interests.
Concurrent has also announced that Floyd Hale has been promoted to director, worldwide product marketing, and Dennis J. Tinley has been promoted to director, worldwide industry marketing, which includes strategic planning. Both will report to Brown.
Stihl, a retired Major General in the U.S. Air Force, joined Concurrent in May 1991 from G&H Technologies, where he was president and general manager. Prior to that, he was commander of the Air Force Communications Command, where he was responsible for all command, control, communications, computer and air traffic services for the U.S. Air Force, supporting the Department of Defense, State Department and foreign governments.
Sicilian joined Concurrent in 1987, where he rose to vice president, international operations. Prior to joining Concurrent, he held various sales positions with Apollo Computer, Inc., Prime Computer, Inc., and Scan Data Corporation.
Headquartered in Oceanport, N.J., Concurrent Computer Corporation is the leading producer of high-performance, real-time computing systems worldwide. Its systems provide real-time solutions in aerospace, simulation, financial trading, transaction processing, testing and measurement, communications, gaming and the public sector.
