CONCERTS IN THE PARK WOODLAND HILLS SUMMER SERIES NOW IN ITS 31ST SEASON.

The Valley Cultural Center will present its 31st season of Concerts in the Park this summer at the Lou Bredlow Pavilion at Warner Ranch Park, 5800 Topanga Canyon Blvd. in Woodland Hills.

Concerts start June 4 and continue every Sunday through Aug. 27 (except on July 2 when there will be no concert because this year's July Fourth concert is on a Tuesday).

On June 25, the Woodland Hills Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Family Festival starting at 1 p.m. It will feature the Beatles tribute band Ticket to Ride.

The fourth annual July 4th Extravaganza will take place on a Tuesday this year with the Los Angeles Pierce College

The concerts are free. They will begin at 6 p.m. and end around 8 p.m. There is parking in the nearby parking structures at Califa Street and Owensmouth Avenue for a small fee. A wide variety of food will be available for sale at the concerts.

June 11 - The San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

Valley, southern California, U.S. Northwest of central Los Angeles, the valley is bounded by the San Gabriel, Santa Susana, and Santa Monica mountains and the Simi Hills.
 Symphony Orchestra will perform, featuring winners of the Valley Cultural Center Annual Music Competition. Each year, the Valley Cultural Center holds a music competition, awarding the contest winners matching scholarships to the Idylwild Summer School of Music, valued at almost $5,000. The winners get to perform in the June 11 concert as well as at the Madrid Theatre for the center's Monday Morning free concerts. The winners are for solo piano, instrumental and jazz soloist or ensemble.

June 25 - Beatles tribute band Ticket To Ride will perform many of the Fab Four's classic hits. Wearing costumes styled after the Beatles, the band members portray each famous musician and perform hits such as ``I Want To Hold Your Hand,'' ``She Loves You,'' ``Eight Days A Week,'' ``Hey Jude,'' ``Get Back'' and ``Strawberry Fields Forever.''

July 4 - The 110-piece Los Angeles Pierce Symphonic Winds will perform during a fireworks display.

July 9 - The Preservation Hall Jazz Band Preservation Hall Jazz Band is the name for groups of Traditional jazz musicians from New Orleans on tours organized by Preservation Hall.

The Preservation Hall Jazz Band usually performs nightly at Preservation Hall and tours around the world over 150 days a year.

The band has been referred to by one music critic as ``a bridge across the ages - a link between the present day and the heyday of traditional New Orleans music.'' The band has performed in the local series each summer since the concerts began 31 years ago.

July 18 - Gary Puckett will perform. His unmistakable signature voice garnered six consecutive gold records and top 10 Billboard hits including ``Young Girl,'' ``Woman, Woman,'' ``Lady Willpower,'' ``Over You'' and ``Don't Give In to Him.''

July 23 - Tierra, named ``Best R&B Vocal Group'' by four leading magazines including Billboard, will take the spotlight. The band's Latin R&B rhythm has produced classics such as ``Together,'' ``Gonna Find Her,'' ``Memories'' and ``Zoot Suit Boogie.''

Aug. 27 - Eric Burdon and the Animals, one of the leaders of the 1960s British rock invasion, will rock the crowd. Their classic hits include ``House of the Rising Sun,'' ``We Gotta Get Outta This Place,'' ``It's My Life,'' ``Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood'' and ``Don't Bring Me Down.''
