For more than two decades, the annual Country & Western Jamboree hosted by Cliffie Stone Cliffie Stone (March 1, 1917 in Burbank, California – d. Son of Herman the Hermit, Stone was known during his generation for his struggle to bring California's country & western music into drew hundreds of music lovers to the park to hear local artists until Stone's death in 1998. He started the Country & Western Jamboree in the 1970s to showcase local talent. ``That's how he gave back to the community,'' Carpenter said. Sunday's concert will feature Carpenter and The Homestead Band, Kevin Keith Banford and The Bakersfield Boys, and numerous special guests who will take the stage to offer their musical talents to the production.
