``Flights of Fancy'' is the theme of the concert. It will feature Maurice Ravel's ``Le Tombeau de Couperin'' and Igor Stravinsky's ``Firebird Suite,'' also featuring the Antelope Valley Ballet.

Additionally, winners of the orchestra's Gail Newby Concerto concerto (kənchâr`tō), musical composition usually for an orchestra and a soloist or a group of soloists. In the 16th cent. concertare and concertato implied an ensemble, either vocal or instrumental.  Competition will be featured in performance. First-place winner David Kim Dr. David Kim (born November 7, 1969) is a physician and orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine, arthroscopy and shoulder reconstructive surgery. His office is located in Huntington Beach, California at the Huntington Beach Orthopedics and Sports Medicine practice. , 16, will perform Maurice Ravel's ``Concerto in G Major, Movement No. 1.'' Second-place winner Hannah Yi, 23, will perform Camille Sant-Saens' ``Concerto No. 2 in G Minor, Movement No 1.''

The concert will begin at 8 p.m. at the Lancaster Performing Arts Center A performing arts center, often abbreviated PAC, is a multi-use performance space that can be adapted for use by various types of the performing arts, including dance, music and theatre. , 750 W. Lancaster Blvd.

Winners of the competition will perform at a 7:15 p.m. preview recital Recital - dBASE-like language and DBMS from Recital Corporation. Versions include Vax VMS. .

``Flights of Fancy'' is the third concert of the orchestra's ``Music Comes Alive!'' 2003-04 concert season.

Tickets are $9 for children, $16 for seniors, and $18 for adults. Season and half-season subscribers receive savings over single-ticket prices. Tickets are available at the theater box office, by phone at (661) 723-5950, or online at www.avsomc.org.
