LANCASTER - Grace Resource Center is richer by $1,000 after a gospel concert by His Ambassadors and Crossroads at the First Baptist Church of Lancaster.

Performing to benefit the center for the second time this year the groups generated $700 from patrons. Then before Pastor Chris Johnson made the presentation to Grace executive director Steve Baker, the First Baptist congregation added another $300.

Baker expressed his appreciation and that of the center which he said has always been dedicated to ``a ministry of helping others.''

Leading His Ambassadors was Phil Colunga, who has been instrumental in organizing the programs, even though he is confined to a wheelchair. He was assisted by his sons, Matt, who monitored the sound system, and Tim, who sang on stage with him. Completing the Ambassadors vocal lineup were Lee Richardson, Ken Howard and Tom McGraw.

Crossroads consists of Jerry Roark, Bob Oliver, Doug Brown and Dave Larson.

Special guest soloist was bass Harry Sachs.

In April, His Ambassadors and Crossroads performed at the Quartz Hill Four Square Church with two other vocal groups.

A playbill addition to this month's concert was the Devotion in Motion Hawaiian dance troupe, which sang "How Great Thou Art" in Hawaiian and English.

Menus for the week at the senior life nutrition sites in Lancaster, Palmdale and South Valley have been announced. All meals include bread, margarine and coffee, tea or milk for a suggested donation of $2.

Monday: Beef enchilada, Spanish rice, parsleyed carrots, garden salad, pineapple juice, tapioca pudding.

Tuesday: Hot turkey sandwich, mashed potatoes, peas, carrot salad, apple pie.

Wednesday: Roast pork, dressing, stewed tomatoes, coleslaw, oatmeal cookies.

Thursday: Sweet and sour chicken, au gratin potatoes, Normandy vegetables, cottage cheese, orange.

Friday: Chili egg puff, chili beans, spinach, creamy coleslaw, tomato juice, pears.
