This brings the total MTS orders received to date to approximately $28.7 million.

The orders were awarded to the company's Maryland-based Comtech Mobile Datacom subsidiary pursuant to an eight-year contract with the Army's Logistics Command. They bring the number of MTS units ordered to date to over 2,500. The MTS program will provide the Logistics Command with the technology necessary to track and communicate in real time with its mobile assets.

Colonel Stephen Broughall, the U.S. Army's Program Manager for Logistics Information Systems, said, "With MTS, Comtech has a proven track record of delivering breakthrough technology that has transformed Army logistics operations. The MTS technology has exceeded our expectations with its robust capabilities. Building on the successes of the MTS program to date, we plan to accelerate MTS deployment to Army units."

Fred Kornberg, President and Chief Executive Officer of Comtech Telecommunications Corp., said, "We are extremely pleased with the receipt of the new MTS orders. They are continuing evidence of the Army's commitment to the MTS program. Receipt of these orders was delayed as a result of delays in finalizing the defense budget. The defense budget that was signed by President Bush last month includes approximately $21.5 million for MTS funding during the Army's fiscal year ending September 30, 2002. The fiscal 2003 defense budget is expected to be in the order of $34 million for MTS procurement prior to any potential plus-ups."
