COMSYS Reminds Healthcare Organizations of HIPAA Implementation Schedule; Health Information Systems Must Meet October 16 Compliance Deadline.

The deadline for testing systems was April 16, 2003. Implementation among healthcare organizations is scheduled to begin Oct. 16, 2003.

HIPAA was signed into law in 1996, and is now entering the stages of full implementation.
