The Forum would also serve as an important open tool for the promotion of industrial and technological collaboration Working together on a project. OIC member states have developed number of technologies over the time and have been commercialized. These technologies are available in various fields of engineering Engineering is a collective term to describe the application of scientific theory in the design, creation, and maintenance of technology. According to 1992 NSF data, the largest fields of engineering are Civil, Electrical / Electronic, Industrial and Mechanical Engineering (by number of , pharmaceutical, agriculture, biotechnology, medicine, agriculture, agro-food, energy etc. Simultaneously, there may be many companies within the OIC member states who are willing to offer such technologies to other OIC countries on mutually acceptable terms of sharing of royalties or as joint venture partnerships. To meet this need, the COMSTECH has launched this COMSTECH Technology Forum which would allow member states having suitable technologies to offer to other OIC member states through this forum. Similarly OIC Member States which are interested in acquiring specific technologies can place their requirements on the COMSTECH website so that they can benefit through the expertise available in other member states.
