Byline: - Bill Becher

When I first took it out of the box, I thought major outdoor guy bling- bling.

The Suunto S6 Wristop Computer ($369 from outdoor gear retailer REI in Northridge or at rei.com) has reversed display with light numbers on a dark background and a sleek black resin band. The design reminds you of a blackout A complete loss of power. See brownout.  Porsche.

There's also a clinometer that measures slope angle to help calculate avalanche risk and the barometer helps track weather conditions.

And it definitely looks cool apres-ski.
