COMPUTER LANGUAGE RESEARCH, INC. AGREES TO SELL SUBSTANTIALLY ALL OF THE ASSETS OF ELECTRONIC FORM SYSTEMS INCORPORATED TO AMERICAN BUSINESS PRODUCTS, INC.

CARROLLTON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 15, 1995--Computer Language Research, Inc. (NASDAQ/NM: CLRI) today announced it had reached an agreement to sell substantially all of the assets of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Electronic Form Systems Incorporated (EFS), to Vanier Graphics Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Business Products, Inc. (NYSE: ABP.)

According to Stephen Winn, President and CEO of Computer Language Research, "the Company has elected to focus its financial and managerial resources on the development and marketing of specialized application software and services to a small number of vertical markets. We want to be the leader in every vertical market that we serve. While Electronic Form Systems provided some technology used in our tax business, the bulk of the revenue generated by EFS came from systems integration of proprietary forms technology into diverse horizontal markets. Since this is not consistent with our business strategy, we elected to divest EFS. The transaction is expected to close before the end of June."
