It will contain 14 top-of-the-line computers, all built by computer repair students, and will offer specialized training tailored to a company's needs, said June Moore, coordinator of special projects for the school.

Computer technology is changing so fast that people need a place where they can keep up with it, Moore said. That's where the school comes in.

For the past year the school has offered discounts off the cost of classes to local companies that send their employees to the school, Moore said.

As time passed, it became apparent that more was needed, such as a place where school instructors could work with employees on computer programs and provide other specialized training, she said.

That's where the computer lab comes in, she said.

``There's a tremendous need for us to keep on top of the technology wave and the people need a place where they can train and that's what we're working on,'' Moore said.

The new lab will open in September, school officials said.
