 COMPUTER IDENTICS ANNOUNCES 1991 RESULTS
CANTON, Mass., Jan. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Computer Identics Corporation

(NASDAQ: CIDN) reported its results today for the fourth quarter 1991 and 12 months ended Dec. 31, 1991.
Revenue for the fourth quarter of 1991 increased 34 percent to $6,122,000 from $4,578,000 for the same period of 1990. Net income for the fourth quarter of 1991 was $520,000 or 5 cents per share, an increase of 59 percent over the $327,000 or 3 cents per share for the same period of 1990. The company's provision for taxes in the fourth quarter and full year reflect a high portion of consolidated pre-tax income being earned in the U.S. where its operating loss carryforwards are available to reduce U.S. income taxes.
For the year ended Dec. 31, 1991 revenue increased 15 percent to $20,641,000 from $17,897,000 for the same period in 1990. Net income for 1991 was $760,000, or 8 cents per share, more than double the $245,000 or 3 cents per share for 1990.
Computer Identics' President Frank J. Wezniak said, "The fourth quarter showed solid progress as orders, revenues and profits increased significantly over a year ago. This was a strong ending to an excellent year in which orders increased 16 percent, revenues increased 15 percent and profits more than doubled. Business was strong in all areas of activity; domestic, Europe, and Asia as well as customer support services. The management organization changes made in September have accelerated the company's effort to become more market-oriented, providing solutions to meet customer needs. These changes established product business units that focus on our targeted market segments, material handling and data collection while also restructuring the domestic sales effort to increase the level of technical support, both hardware and software, locally available to our salesforce and customers. As a result of these management changes, the reasonably priced U.S. dollar, and the slowly improving domestic economy, we are confident that growth and profitability will be strong in 1992."
