COMPUTER ASSOCIATES INTERNATIONAL, INC. TO APPEAL ARBITRATION AWARD.


ISLANDIA, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 3, 1996--Computer Associates International, Inc. said today that it plans to appeal a lower court decision affirming an arbitration award An arbitration award (or arbitral award) is a determination on the merits by an arbitration tribunal in an arbitration, and is analogous to a judgment in a court of law.  against the company and its subsidiary, On-Line International Software. The award grew out of a long time dispute concerning royalties between On-Line and the developers of a product On-Line acquired in 1982. The dispute was ongoing at the time of CA's acquisition of On-Line in 1991.
