 COMPTEK RECEIVES NAVY CONTRACT EXTENSION
 VALUED AT $15.8 MILLION
 BUFFALO, N.Y., Sept. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Comptek Research, Inc. (AMEX/BSE: CTK), an electronics and data communications company, today announced that its government systems subsidiary Comptek Federal Systems, Inc. has received an extension on a multi-year Navy contract valued at $15.8 million.
 The one-year extension calls for Comptek's continued provision of engineering services to the Naval Air Systems Command at the Pacific Missile Test Center at Point Mugu, California. Comptek has been performing work on the Electronic Combat Mission Support program under a cost-plus contract since 1989.
 John J. Sciuto, president of Comptek Federal Systems, Inc., noted: "The Electronic Combat Mission Support contract was Comptek's leading source of revenues in the last fiscal year and is expected to continue to be the leader in the current fiscal year. This most recent contract extension confirms the Navy's commitment to the program and the quality of products and services being provided by Comptek."
 Comptek Federal Systems, directly and via a number of subcontractors, provides a full range of electronic systems, software, and hardware engineering support for both the Navy and the Marine Corps on this omnibus contract.
