COMPTEK JOINT VENTURE SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH MCI

 BUFFALO, N.Y., April 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Comptek Research, Inc. (AMEX-CTK, BSE-CTK) announced that its 31 percent owned joint venture, Bison Data Corporation, has signed a preliminary affiliate agreement with MCI Telecommunications Corporation (NASDAQ-MCIC) to jointly develop special service packages for MCI.
 This agreement, the first of its type between a long-distance company and Bison, will combine the strengths of Bison Data's DataMover 2000 product line with MCI's global long-distance network to develop unique customer applications for data transmission.
 Comptek Research manufactures the DataMover 2000 data communications device for Bison Data under an exclusive arrangement.
 Originally developed to dramatically lower the cost of operating automated bank teller machine networks by eliminating the need for telephone lines, the DataMover is currently being used for this and other applications in many parts of the world. In addition to the United States, Bison has distributornama. Bison also has distributors in the Republic of Russia, China, and the Pacific Rim region, including Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines and Indonesia. The DataMover's patented technology permits reliable and cost-effective radio transmission of data within a 30-mile radius.
 The agreement between Bison Data and MCI may expand the application of this technology to other areas that can benefit from more reliability, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness.
