The Antelope Valley
 Fair and Alfalfa alfalfa (ălfăl`fə) or lucern (lsûn`), perennial leguminous plant (Medicago sativa  Festival must be turned in by July 18 at the entry office, 155 E. Ave. I.

This year's theme is A Sixty Carrot carrot, common name for some members of the Umbelliferae, a family (also called the parsley family) of chiefly biennial or perennial herbs of north temperate regions.  A-Fair to salute the country spirit of the Antelope Valley. The 60th annual event runs Aug. 28 through Sept. 7. Admission is $5 for general admission, $3 for seniors and kids 6 to 12, and free for children under 6.
