COMPASS Appoints EDA Industry Veteran F. Taylor Scanlon To V.P. Of Worldwide Marketing.


SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 21, 1996--COMPASS Design Automation, Inc., a leader in electronic design automation See EDA. (EDA) software and libraries for deep submicron design, today announced F. Taylor Scanlon has been named vice president of worldwide marketing, directing the company's worldwide strategic and tactical marketing and applications engineering organization. With more than 25 years experience in semiconductor and electronic design automation, Scanlon, 49, previously held the vice president, North American Operations position for COMPASS. Scanlon replaces Jeff Lewis who has left the company to pursue personal interests.

"Taylor played a key role in the initial spin-off of COMPASS from VLSI Technology and has been integral in the company's success to date," stated President Dieter Mezger, COMPASS Design Automation. "I am very pleased to have him directing the worldwide marketing efforts and believe his broad experience base in this industry provides a solid platform from which to successfully lead the marketing efforts."

Prior to joining COMPASS in 1991, Scanlon held several management positions with DAZIX DAZIX - Daisy/Cadnetix Corporation.
