COMPASS Appoints EDA Industry Veteran F. Taylor Scanlon To V.P. Of Worldwide Marketing.

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 21, 1996--COMPASS Design Automation, Inc., a leader in electronic design automation (EDA) software and libraries for deep submicron design, today announced F. Taylor Scanlon has been named vice president of worldwide marketing, directing the company's worldwide strategic and tactical marketing and applications engineering organization. With more than 25 years experience in semiconductor and electronic design automation, Scanlon, 49, previously held the vice president, North American Operations position for COMPASS. Scanlon replaces Jeff Lewis who has left the company to pursue personal interests.

Prior to joining COMPASS in 1991, Scanlon held several management positions with DAZIX, (formerly Daisy Systems). Most recently, he held the position of vice president of worldwide marketing, where he directed strategic, product and tactical marketing, business development and marketing communications. Scanlon also held engineering and operations management positions for Motorola Inc.'s Semiconductor Sector and Honeywell Information Systems (GE).
