COMPAQ SELECTS NVIDIA GRAPHICS PROCESSORS FOR PROSIGNIA PCS.NVIDIA Corporation's Vanta graphics processor has been selected as the standard graphics solution for Compaq Computer Corporation's complete line of Prosignia desktop PCs. In addition, NVIDIA's RIVA TNT2 and RIVA TNT2 Ultra have also been selected as the only upgrade options to the standard NVIDIA Vanta offering. Compaq's Prosignia family of products are specifically designed to give small- and medium-sized business better choices for integrated technology solutions. The NVIDIA Vanta, RIVA TNT2 and RIVA TNT2 Ultra allow Compaq to deliver unmatched graphics performance, compatibility and quality at every price point, from the sub-$1,000 Prosignia 320 to the top-of-the-line Prosignia 330. Based on the RIVA TNT2 architecture, the NVIDIA Vanta graphics processor is a low-cost graphics processor for entry-level add-in-card and motherboard solutions. The RIVA TNT2 architecture is NVIDIA's fourth-generation integrated 128-bit 3D processor. The TwiN Texel architecture, combined with per-pixel mip-mapping precision, offers an unprecedented fill rate of up to 350 million pixels-per-second -- twice as many as the nearest competitor. The RIVA TNT2 meets all the requirements of the mainstream PC graphics market and Microsoft's PC 98, PC 99 and DirectX 6.0 initiatives.
