) announced ProLiant 8-Way server models featuring the latest Intel Pentium III Xeon processor technology. The ProLiant 8000 and ProLiant 8500, which lead the Intel-based 8-Way server market with 76 percent worldwide market share, will be offered with new Intel Pentium III Xeon processors at 700MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc.  with 1 and 2MB of Advanced Transfer Cache The Advanced Transfer Cache (ATC) is Intel's name for the L2 cache contained within their processors, starting with the Pentium III "Coppermine". In "Coppermine" it offered a significant boost in cache performance resulting in notable per clock performance gains for the CPU when . Compaq is taking orders for ProLiant 8-Way servers containing the new 700MHz Intel Pentium III Xeon processors immediately.
