 COMPAQ EXPANDS NORTH AMERICAN DIVISION;
 EXECUTIVES APPOINTED TO NEW POSTS
 HOUSTON, May 4, /PRNewswire/ -- In a move aimed directly at increasing its market share, Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE: CPQ) today significantly expanded its North American Division and appointed key executives who will report to Ross Cooley, Senior Vice President of North America.
 Gian Carlo Bisone has been appointed Vice President of North American Marketing. Reflecting the increased importance placed on customer satisfaction, Gus Kolias has been appointed Vice President of Customer Service. Dave Davis has been appointed Vice President of North American Sales, Mac McLoughlin has been appointed Vice President of Corporate Sales and Patrick Le Feuvre has been appointed Director of North American Operations.
 Cooley said, "We have put together a highly focused team of seasoned individuals who will expand our marketing, sales and customer support activities and ensure the success of our products in the North American marketplace. This new organization enhances our support of both PCs and systems products. Specifically, the creation of a systems marketing function in the North American division reflects an increased focus on bringing customers advanced network solutions and support. Our new team will create and deliver a well-orchestrated range of programs that target pricing, new channel development, customer satisfaction and support, and advertising and public relations."
 In Bisone's new role he will have responsibility for market and new channel development; consumer product marketing; desktop, portable and systems marketing; corporate and marketing communications; and advertising and public relations. Bisone had been Vice President of Corporate Marketing since November 1991 and previously served as Vice President of International Marketing at Compaq's European headquarters in Munich since April 1990.

 -- Bob Bauer, Director, Desktop Marketing
 -- Andrew Watson, Director, Portables Marketing
 -- Joe Nahil, Director, Corporate Communications
 -- Barbara Krumland, Director, Market Development
 -- Rick Martin, Director, New Channel Development
