COMPANY RESULT: MICRON ELECTRONICS INC.

Micron Electronics Inc, Nampa, Idaho-based direct marketer of PCs, has reported first-quarter net income of $11.7m on revenue down 27.8% at $403.5m, up from net income of $1.1m in the year- ago quarter. Earnings per share for the quarter rose to $0.12 from $0.01 last year. Year-ago results include $70.2m in revenue from the discontinued contract manufacturing operations.
