Valencia-based Newhall Land is talking with a possible buyer, and a deal could close by the end of the year, company spokeswoman Marlee Lauffer said. Newhall Land has an option to buy land in Broomfield, Colo., about 15 miles outside of Denver. The agricultural land is on the north side of Broomfield, a growing city with a population of about 40,000, said Teri Malies, a Broomfield planner. ``That's a very attractive area for development with its (proximity) to Denver and Boulder Boulder, city, United States Boulder, city (1990 pop. 83,312), seat of Boulder co., N central Colo.; inc. 1871.
