From there, the co-owners say, it was a natural transition into computers: They sell custom-built computers, buying components in bulk and then assembling them at the shop.

``Technology was new. It was exciting. It's still exciting,'' co-owner Don Goin said of the decision six years ago to move into the computer field.

Superior Electronics is owned by Goin, who started in the satellite business 20 years ago as Starview Electronics, and Doug Terrell, whose first job out of high school was at a satellite TV and electronics repair shop.

Goin and Terrell incorporated the business as SEPC SEPC Space Exploration Program Council

The business was on Division Street for five years, then moved five years ago to 43769 15th St. W.

Besides building custom computers, the store repairs and upgrades computers, and sells computer peripherals and used computers, as well as selling and installing Dish Network See DBS.  satellite dishes.

``I think it's important that customers feel they're getting the best value for their money,'' Terrell said. ``We strongly believe that a custom-built computer is far beyond anything that you could buy in a box in regards to upgrading.''

The company is also online.

It also offers complete systems and peripheral items for sale. At www.sepc.com, the company advertises store specials and how to get in touch with them.

``The idea of getting online was to offer customer support when we weren't here,'' Goin said. ``It seemed natural.''

Terrell said the main focus for the store's 10th anniversary is to reward the customers who have helped make them successful.

``You have to take care of your existing customer base,'' he said. ``The customer service we offer is second to none. The customer is always right.''
