Camps and instruction

Eugene Y Aquatic Club is hosting a swim clinic at Amazon Pool from 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday. The clinic will feature Lauren Thies, former Lincoln High School Lincoln High School may refer to:

Kidsports announces its Fall Volleyball Clinics, offering four Sunday sessions beginning Sept. 30 with area high school coaches and their teams. The clinics will be held at the Regional Sports Center, 200 S. 32nd St., Springfield. Registration is open to third-graders through eighth-graders; cost is $40 per person. The registration deadline is Sept. 21.

Public tennis classes re-start this week in Eugene (Saturday, 5:30 p.m.), Springfield (Tuesday and Thursday evenings) and North Eugene (Monday and Wednesday evenings). Events

The local Pass, Punt and Kick competition will be held at Graham Field on Sunday starting at noon. Any child, age 8-15, may participate. Registration is free and can be done at the site. Contact Dave at 683-2374 (ext. 112) for more information. No cleats are allowed.

Eugene Swim and Tennis Club is hosting an interchanging-partner round-robin mixer on Sept. 22 and 28 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The event is open to all skill levels, but is limited to adults only. The cost is $10 per player and registration is available at the ESTC front desk. Contact Walter Seidel at ESTC for more information.

Kidsports Tot Soccer registration deadline is Friday. This program is open to 3- and 4-year-old children and is set to start during the week of Sept. 24; cost is $30 per child (scholarship help is available). COMING EVENTS

SATURDAY - Eclectic Edge Racing presents the Tri-Trail Challenge, a unique trail race combining seven-, one- and three-kilometer segments on different trails. The different segments start at 8 a.m., 9 a.m. and about 9:45 a.m., all in south Eugene. Participants may run one, two or all three segments, as individuals or as a team. Finish place will be based on a point system, not accrued time. Visit eclecticedgeracing.com for race and registration details and online registration.

SATURDAY - The 28th annual Prefontaine Memorial 10-kilometer run starts at 10 a.m. at the corner of Fourth and Anderson in downtown Coos Bay. Wheelchair racers start at 9:50. Walkers have the choice of the entire 10K route or a two-mile distance. Entry is $18 through today, $21 thereafter. Online registration is available at prefontainerun.com. There will be age-group awards in five-year groupings, and high school and college team divisions. Nike is again sponsoring the grand prize, an expense-paid trip to Myrskyla, Finland, to compete in the Lasse a. & adv. 1. Less.  Viren Run in September, 2008. All race entrants receive a commemorative T-shirt.

SATURDAY - Eat and Run, a benefit for the Albany School Foundation, is a five-kilometer run and walk in north Albany, including bike paths along the Willamette River. The event starts at 9 a.m. Each participant will receive a commemorative T-shirt. Registration is $20 for all ages. Contact: Liisa Reid, (541) 967-7227.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 22 - The 15th Annual Northwest Cross-Country Classic begins at 10 a.m. with the Eugene Running Company "Community Run" at Lane Community College. This is a co-ed 5K run open to recreational runners of all ages. Entry fee is $15 per participant, and registration can be done online at www.goodrace.com or in person at Eugene Running Company. SUNDAY, SEPT. 30 - The Fall Celebration Run/Walk, formerly the Eugene Celebration Run, will include both eight- and five-kilometer open runs, a 5K walk and a two-kilometer kids' fun run. There are awards for overall, wheelchair and age-group winners. There are no prizes for kids, but elementary schools with at least five entrants may compete for cash awards for their school. The course includes bike and running paths in Alton Baker Park Alton Baker Park is located in Eugene, Oregon, United States, near Autzen Stadium. It features duck ponds, bicycle trails, and a dog park, and directly touches the Ferry Street Bridge. , with the adult races beginning at 9 a.m. and the kids' run at 9:45 a.m. Entry through Sept. 29 is $22 for the 8K or 5K with guaranteed T-shirt.
