Byline: The Register-Guard

CORRECTION (ran 7/10/2007): Natalie Mosman was the age 11 winner for the girls 400 meters in the July 3 all-comers meet at South Eugene High School South Eugene High School is a public high school located in Eugene, Oregon, United States. It was founded as Eugene High School around 1900, and was located at Willamette Street and West 11th Avenue in a brick building that later served as Eugene's city hall. . Her name was incorrect in community sports results on Page D2 Monday.

COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT

Three all-comers' track and field meets remain this month, and it's not too late for would-be athletes ages 1 to 91 to test their running, jumping and throwing skills at McChesney Track behind South Eugene High School. Competition for ages 13 and older takes place on Thursdays beginning at 5 p.m. For kids age 12 and younger, including many as young as Lauren Becraft, 3, Wednesday is their night, with registration opening at 5 p.m. and the first field events starting at 5:30. Lauren is far from the youngest participant, and in fact is a two-year veteran of the age-appropriate competition. At age 3 she is limited to the long jump, softball throw and 60-meter dash events, and says she likes the softball throw best. Distances and times are not recorded for ages 1-6, and everyone receives a participation ribbon. For ages 7-12, jumping and throwing distances and running times are recorded and place-designated ribbons awarded. The distance race is the one event that changes each week. This week it will be a mile run, next week an 800-meter run and the season-ending July 25 meet will offer a 1,500-meter run. Registration is $3 for up to three events, or a $20 Oregon Track Club junior membership, which includes free entry to the remaining meets plus an OTC OTC
